Just Gopher It

Oh wow, I can't even believe how long it has been since I posted. The school year flew by but kept me busier that I ever could have imagined. I enjoyed being the Treasurer of the PTO at the kids school and then in January started a Girl Scout Troop, which quickly grew to sixteen girls right at the beginning of cookie sales. Needless to say I had to give up something which was crafting/blogging and a clean house, haha!!
I have missed visiting all of my blogging friends and I didn't realize how much I missed my Copics until I started coloring the other day.  I made this card several months ago for my husband's birthday which happens to be on Groundhog Day but never got it posted.  Better late than never I always say.

I am so very proud of one of my oldest blogging buddies Wendy- SugarPea Designs for starting her very own stamp company.  I bought a couple of sets the first couple of days she opened and this is one of them Go-pher It.
I kept the design very simple since it was made for a guy.  The paper is from Echo Park This & That collection.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink to give it that digging in the dirt look.

We're Friends and Family Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!  It's almost Christmas and though we all have family and friends we enjoy spending time with at this time of the year, we also have family and friends that we don't see or visit with often enough but still mean just as much to us!  Us gals on the Design Team of Color Me Creative Challenge Site wanted to take a moment to say send a big HUG and a special thanks to our fearless leader, Suzanne Dean.

Suzanne HAS to be the easiest and sweetest person to work with and, as many of you know from reading her blog, about the funniest too (though sometimes we ALL think she'd be better off leaving the house in bubble wrap! LOL)  *Kidding!!*

As you may have figured out, Suzanne adores the time she spends with her family and quite often shares her travels and outings with us.  So, as a little way to encourage her to continue doing what she loves best AND to keep sharing it with us... the DT would like to invite you to share in our little blog hop sharing our creations for Suzanne that remind us of family, sharing, recording memories and love.  Suzanne is a perfect example of how to share as much time as you can with those you love and to create memories that will last a lifetime for generations to come.

So here's to you, Suzanne... we love you, your crazy ways and think you are just like family to us as well.

Even though I am not much of a scrapbooker I thought this would be the perfect way to honor Suzanne and her family.  I snagged some new pictures off her blog, creepy huh? ha ha.  On one of her recent projects she used a wooden frame to create and ornament and I loved the idea(she always inspires me).  I used some ink around the edges of the frame and colored this sweet chickadee stamp by  Sweet 'n Sassy. I added some Liquid Applique to the punches and stamp to resemble snow, a little Crystal Stickels finished it off.

Copics- E44, E43,E42/E31, E30/W3, W2, W1/R59, R24, R24

Now head on over to Jenn Cochran and enjoy the awesome project she is sharing with Suzanne.  If you missed the beginning of the hop, you can head on over to Tina Gilliland.

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you have a VERY Merry Christmas and that you make all the memories and treasured times you can with your family and friends!

We love you, Suzanne and thank you for another fabulous year with the CMC DT "family"!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!

Hop order:

Teacher Gift Ideas

Wow, I have never gone so long without posting or visiting everyone.  The school year has been a crazy busy time and I took on way more than I should have.  I am missing my Copics so much!  I haven't given up crafting, it has just been done in other areas than cards.  I am going to share a few things that I have given as gifts over the past year.  I got a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and then put my own spin on things and a few were my own ideas. Just follow the link to see the pins and my boards. I hope you will find some inspiration and start visiting me again as I start adding new posts.
Most of the things I made I created just using Word and making quick and easy tags.  With three kids and so many great teachers and staff I had to start thinking thoughtful and easy.
 Happy Halloween
I made several of these for Halloween and they loved them!! Inexpensive because  I used the small bags and they went a long way.
Manly Bouquet
For this one I used the cinnamon rolls from Costco, small cellophane bags and tied them with raffia.  I wish I had a bigger label for the container but this was very last minute and had to work with what I had.
Wild About Learning
This idea was all me.  I found these great zebra items at Michaels and ran with it for an end of year
gift.
Mason Jar Flowers
I used the stamp set Poppies and Greetings from Sweet n' Sassy to create this flower vase.  A little burlap type ribbon hot glued to the jar made a cute presentation for the flowers.
Picture Perfect Year
Candy, Popcorn and a Movie Gift Card for the end of a great year.
Have a wonderful week and I hope to see you again soon!!

The Paper Shelter #130 Faux or Real Stitching

Hi everyone. Today is a bitter sweet good bye because today is my last challenge as part of The Paper Shelter Design Team.  This is the first time in over three years that I haven't been on a team and I am excited that I made this decision.  This will allow me more time for my kids but also to create with no limits or boundaries, everything for fun.
Thank you so much to my great design team leaders Marie and Shirley and also to the fabulous Pedro and Veronica who create the most amazing art work.
I had to go the faux stitching route because, sewing is just not what I do well.  I used In the 20s for my image,  I have always loved this one and finally got around to using her.

Caught By Your Spell

I hope everyone is having a good week. The calendar is overflowing with activities that are making me miss the quite of summer.  Did anyone get the chance to apply for The Paper Shelter Design Team? If so, I wish you the best of luck.
For this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter we want to see you use the Sun, Moon or Stars on your project. Veronica and Pedro are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.
I used one of the new images called Incantation.  Isn't she the prettiest little witch? I love her!!
I have been wanting to play with my Silhouette Cameo and am I ever glad I did.  Look at the detail on the spider web.  It amazes me the way it cuts. There is absolutely no comparison to the Cricut and yes, I have both.  The sentiment is from C.C Designs and the star punch is from the Paper Studio.
It seemed that with her casting a spell I needed to add a glow around her with my Copics. I then sponged in with black ink.  I am so tired right now I am going to be lazy and not list the markers I used, sorry.
Have a great day!!!

TPS Challenge Lace and Pearls

Happy Wednesday my friends!! This is day three of back to school and I don't like seeing 5:45 AM. So far the kids are adjusting well but I am sure the tired and grumpy will catch up with them this afternoon. It is so strange having all three of them gone during the day, I am going to have to adjust and get a new routine down.
With all of the rush of getting ready for back to school it left me with no energy to craft so that is when The Paper Shelter's pre-colored image came in very handy.  They are beautifully colored and they print perfectly.  So if you are running short on time and need a quick card I highly recommend trying them out and the best part is they come with the digital line images.
Today I used A. Mucha Influence- Summer to go along with the new challenge at The Paper Shelter #125 Lace and Pearls.  I distressed the edges of my papers and added some pearls to the C.C. Designs Leafy Branch Die Cut.
Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.
Maybe soon I can share some fun things I have done this past year including three parties and my kids room make overs. Have a great day!!
